Asus Fonepad 7 comes with the same design of previous version of Fonepad 7. But, the developers have decided to choose the plastic body cover for the new series whereas the earlier series contained aluminum body. The new addition made to this phablet is front facing dual speaker. Asus Fonepad 7 has black curved body with dual speaker faced front. It looks similar to the previous version of phablet but latter did not contain dual speaker. Also, there are no other physical buttons because of Android Jelly Bean.
The placement of front camera has also changed and now it’s placed at the centre. The rounded covers with the plastic finished body give it the new fresh design but it’s slippery. You must use your two hands while operating it or else it can slip out from your hand. Asus Fonepad 7 comes in two colors: White and Black. Although, the body is made up of plastic but the weight of the phablet has been reduced to 328 grams.
Asus Fonepad 7 comes with 5 megapixel rear camera and can click images up to 1080pixel at 30 frames per second. Generally, the phablets doesn’t support flash same goes with Fonepad 7. The interface part of the camera is quite simple it gives the access to the shutter and video recording options instantly. Asus have added certain camera apps to this series of phablets like panorama, smile shot, single shot, and night mode.
Overall, the camera part is very good in the Fonepad when compared to other brands like Micromax and Samsung. Also, it comes with 1.2 Megapixel front facing camera which is useful to take good shots for yourself.
As name says Fonepad 7 comes with 7 inch IPS LCD display. But, it was expected to increase the display resolution in new series but latter features the same resolution. The display of Fonepad 7 was bright but it reflects much when you use it at outdoor. Also, when it comes to the color reproduction it is quite decent to use.
The IPS panel of Asus Fonepad 7 was remarkable to view the videos from different angles, which means more than one person can be viewed from different angles. The touch sensitivity of this phablet also works very well.
Asus Fonepad 7 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Beans, which is the major update from its previous version. The company has customized its series with no physical button because the OS Jelly Beans navigation keys adds button on buttons. Asus have introduced “floating app” concept where users can run stopwatch, stick memo, countdown timer, and browser simultaneously with other running apps.
Asus Fonepad 7 also features Google, which is a voice based search tool. You just have to ask questions and the tool will display the result for your query. In spite of other apps remains same Asus have added two image-led apps: Asus Studio and Asus story which can be useful to play with images to enhance it. Also, they have added Power Saver mode to extend the battery life while using certain apps.
Asus Fonepad 7 comes with dual core Intel Atom processor which will never disappoint you in terms of speed. Overall, the phablet does not encounter any problems. At the flat price of Rs.17, 499 where you can compare it with Samsung and Micromax phablets it gives the better advantage in terms of extra apps and better touch sensitivity.
